OK so here are my latest toys... the rotors and Poterfield pads have been installed, now i just need some time to get the brake lines in.... and the filter will go in soon too... nice hu

Very nice.. Make sure you prime and paint the hub areas before you install. Give them ample time to dry before you put it all back toehther.

I see you finally decided on a braking system setup to fit your needs. Looking good. Just for your information, after installation, you might want to check the lugs on your wheels. Reason #1 is that the wheels might come loose due to the shuddering and vibration your wheel will endure (that basiclly vibrates your lugs loose). I had to torque down the lugs to 80 ft. lbs with a torque rench (the Solara owners manual states to use 76ft. lbs however the lugs fell off :-?

man, u should've seen me Saturday morning! LOL i went to the dealership and to get that little spring ... nada, they said they would have to special order, blah blah, but he mentioned a junk yard.... so i went there... NO Solara's, only 1 camry Gen 4 --- and it turned out to have drums on the back ... so i pretty much wanted to scream right... well what do you know, as im about to leave, i see a 95 Camry, and my luck... 4 disc brakes!!! woohhhooo!!!! the guys there take the parts apart so i had to show him how LOL anyway.... got home and finish it up right on time man... man, it was quite an adventure! LOL

Rotors & brake lines - Sportbrakes.com (thanks to Amy from SELOC). Got a good deal on them i think ($300 total, including shipping)

Air filter - man that was a beeeeyach, but from ajusa.com

Porterfield pads - porterfield-brakes.com (man i had to hussle them LOL)

I should be able to install the brake lines this weekend but the rotors & pads are already in.... i'll try to get some pics this weekend.

That looks great! Are those the Brembo rotors? I have about the same setup sitting about 4 feet from me waiting for me to wrap up other projects and get started on them. Brembo slotted and dimpled rotors, porterfield R4S pads, Braided SS lines, G2 caliper paint, will paint hubs black and calipers red.

What are you talking about "a spring"? Is there a part you needed to do the installation or did it get lost? When you put the rotors on, did you need to buy any other parts like seals or anything? Thanks -JoeB

yes they are brembo and nah man, u shouldnt have to buy anything else but here is the thing.. for some time now, my rear brake on the passenger side had been making a weird noise... i never had it checked, but when i was replacing that rotor, you will notice there is a "shoe" that is for the emergency brakes. This show is split into 2 parts, each part is held in place by a pin, a spring and 2 caps. Whenever you take your rotors out you'll see.. anyway, in my case, one of the spring/pins came loose, and it pretty much melted along the shoe... so that is what i had to replace. if you dont have these pins/springs, the show will pop up and pretty much rub agains the back of the rotor the whole time. How did it come lose? i have no freaking clue, but it is very simple to repair once you get the parts (like $5 bucks worth). These springs/pins are behind the part that holds the actual rotor so you may not see it right away. And yeah man, sounds like you have pretty much the same set up i have

Great desrcription. I was worried I'd have to replace grease seals or something and wouldn't have the part. With the spring, I was just wondering if it popped off or whatever. Thanks for the info! I hope my job turns out as well as yours. -JoeB
