2005 / 6 Avalon = G35 beater! sigh...

Dang, take a look at this 2005 Avalon and the specs.

280bhp 4-valve 3.5L V6. Man, that is equal to the G35 Coupe, and 20 better than the G35 Sedan. And purty? The old Avalon was my grandma's car. This new one is a true luxo sedan.

Now I want one of these! :evil:

D. Push-Button Start

1. start-stop functions

a. With foot on brake pedal, press button once to start

b. once in park, press briefly to shut off

c. press & hold for 3 second for emergency engine kill

Holy crap. Whats up Lexus? I think one of the neatest thing about this beaut is the electronic rear sunshade jaun!

I tried to get my friend into it. He wants, room, power, and comfort, AT, 4drs and a FWD drivetrain.

He was lookin at the G35 sedan and TL. He dropped the G35 because it was either RWD or AWD. He wanted strictly FWD. So TL is his target now. I told him Starting for over 5K less, he can have more power and more room and more luxury. I also told him about Honda/Acuras crappy Auto trannys.

But, he refused to look because its an "Avalon".

Its now well equipped to fight in that space, but the name still screams "grandpa" to most people.

I think it needed a name change, which is the one thing it didnt get.

I know Toyota plans to stay in the senior space with the new Avalon, but I think its just contributing to the past problem of low sales of the Avalon, at least until they toss the 2GR into another car.
