As you all know, the Scepter is down and will be down for quite a while so Ive been in need of a new daily driver. So here it is, picked her up today in San Diego: 1985 Corolla GTS Coupe. 138K on the clock, runs super strong. I flew back to LA doing about 90 the whole way with no trouble. The previous owner did some mods to it... 13x7, 13x7.5 Panasports with a -6 offset, TRD springs, Tokico shocks, HKS intake. Pretty good stuff. Body is mostly straight, it has a few dents here and there but nothing you wouldnt expect from a nearly 20 year old car. Here are some pics of it and the Scepter!

Going to be doing some minor stuff in the next few days...

-Going to borrow the Sparcos from the Scepter since I wont be driving it anymore and Im getting Brides for it anyway.
-Remove that janky ass chrome trim from around the rear window.
-Pivot lazy eye headlight controller.
-Diamond cut replacement headlights (these are a bit cloudy)
-Yellow fogs
-Momo steering wheel
-Trust shift knob (old one from the Scepter).
-Trueno badging
-Polish up those lips on the Panasports
-Borrow my Cusco front and rear strut bars from the other Hachiroku
-Drift that bitch

Sweet action. I really like the old Rolla coupes both in FWD & RWD configurations. My brother has been having good luck with the redtop in his AE92.
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

Super pimpin in the 4-age! I love the RWD AE86's man. Good find. Fun car too. You've got the Sceptre Sprinter combo! Congrats!

haha thanks guys... Im not really going to go crazy on this one. I already have a hatch that I have big plans for. Someday Ill have the time and money to actually tackle that project.

And Milt- Heeeeell nah Im not trading my old school Panasports for stock Supra rims!!! Id like to keep these ones that I have for track use and then get a nice set of SSR Longchamps with a ridiculous lip/offset for street use. Dreams...

Actually you DON'T have a "Hachiroku" . . . you have a '85 Corolla . . . a Hachiroku is exactly what it says . . . "86" which is a 1986 Toyota Levin/Trueno (or Corolla in the US). The real Hachi has a totally different suspension set up and chasis. But if you mod the 85 enough you could drift it . . . but you should try to get the Hachi if you can, it drives sooooo much better. Trust me. Anywayz at least now you got a daily driver. Shoootz.

Actually, youre wrong. Yes, "hachiroku" means "eight-six." But that's not in reference to the year of the car... Its in reference to the chassis code: AE86. The AE86 debuted in Japan in 1984 and in the US as an 84.5 model I believe. In any case, 85-87 were the years that the AE86 was brought to America under the SR5 and GTS names on the Corolla in hatchback and coupe form. Trust me. Look it up on Club4AG if you want and stop watching Initial D too much!
