Isn't that a blast? Three years I've been trying to pitch Great Lakes Dragaway for the day before Elmhurst but I gave up.

Good vids Tact.

And the temp goes down while the evening turn to night. I think there is a good balance to make with the air temp. Lower doesn't mean better because colder air is more dense, the car have more trouble cutting thru the air (I'm not talking of intake air) but the engine can breathe better temp). Colder air makes the tires grip less too.

I did my 14.81 sec time at a 60F

Ya, well 93 degrees is just not good for tires or breathing air. But ya, I let my car sit between runs and really almost any vehicle if you keep running it back to back it will get slower if heat is prevalent

I really don't know if the air density makes that much difference to cut thru on our car.
could be with higher performance, faster cars.
but with our car, i guess it'll benefit more from dense air (more oxygen) in engine to burn the fuel than the friction caused by dense air.

by the way, do you have your time slip or video of you making 14.81 sec?
I'm just curious of what kind of number you made on 60 feet, 1/8 mile, and the speed you were at at 1/8 and 1/4 miles.

There is the old thread I made...page 2 you'll see my first drag racing experience time in July 2006 (hot weather like you had on July 12th).
Page 3 is my second night at the track. I'll fix the pics link...I've switched from imagestation to photobucket

Thanks!
that is an amazing number for just an intake.
I hope i'll get some chance to run once it cools down.
This week, around here is over 90 degree every day, and looking at it to be hotter thru august.....

someday, we should meet up some track and have a run together.
it will be a close race!

Tact, don't tell me you still don't know where the extra power come from with the CP-e...it's not the intake pipe...it's the piggyback (the black box). It makes the same job as a SAFC II or any AFR tuning device.

You have a IC. Do you know at which temp the air entering your TB even at 85F outside ? Colder weather will help you but would help Mike way much. I wish you guys beats me by far !! :)

Let's set the bar at 14.5sec and under first.

I know I know

IC would help, however, turbo generate heat like crazy, and it will benefit from cool air a lot as well.

and finally... am i smelling some challenge there at the last line??? :evilbat:
