I've Gone HID - Update Pics & Vids 7/20

Postby BLACK V6 » Fri Jul 17, 2009 9:20 pm

Edit: Update 7/20/09 - Pg. 2

Got my 6000k VVME HIDs in today. Also installed them today. I know, nothing new, I just wanted to share. I'll post some night pics later. And just a quick HID question. I noticed driving home tonight that the glare is pretty bad. It lights up street signs and buildings way up high. I feel like I'm blinding people (and I probably am). What is the best way to reduce this glare?

These pics were taken in broad daylight...

Yes, the shield is on the bottom. I don't wanna exaggerate the glare. It's not HORRIBLE. I actually like it, it's just that I'd hate to blind other drivers. And its just the low beam with a halogen high attached to it. I drove down some unlighted roads tonight and my hids go higher and are brighter than the halogen highs. Maybe I need to aim my headlights down a bit?

Looks pretty good man. 8)
You need to aim your headlights down abit, from what i've heard when you buy a HID kit.

So I just need to lower them a bit? I usually don't drive on unlighted roads but I will encounter one every now and then. I would hate to be stuck not being able to see whats in front of me. How much will lowering the angle affect visibility?

Yeah just lower it. every install i did with hids had to be aimed down a lil bit.

Its fine. the effect on hids will still be better than halogens.

I high beam signal other drivers
ONLY when their lights are so BRIGHT
that I have put on my shades, pull down my visor,
and sometimes reach around my passenger
seat's back pouch and pull out my sunshades
and place them in my windshield, and then, by that time,
they have already passed. So I make a U-turn
and chase them down the highway flashing
MY high-beams, wavying my gun,
and shouting obsenities out the window at them.
Is that considered road rage? :D
