DAYUM! Your car looks better every time I see it! I tried to rate it again when I was on your CarDomain page but I guess I already did. It told me I can't vote twice  . I really like the grill! The smoke tails - hot! Where did you get the black interior trim from? Did they have all the pieces or some missing? Great job Larry! -JoeB

First off, thank you Joe. I painted the pieces that were 'wood', black sand pearl. It looks cool when the pearl speckles in the sunlight. The other pieces I painted a flat black, for the AC vents, I just switched them. I really don't know if I like the tan vents with all the black though. I painted a gloss black around the shifter (I ran out of paint). I'm going to repaint it, but I'm not sure of doing pearl or just flat black. I almost painted the center trim around the radio, but I thought it might be overkill. What do you think?

Engine degreaser, brush, armor all, and lots of elbow grease :D
First off, I removed and cleaned the battery and plastic base, then covered the cable ends with a plastic sandwich bag and rubber band. I was doing Jim's torque rod at the same time, so I just removed both fans and cleaned them too. I was actually able to change the parts in like 5 mins then. Then I sprayed and brushed the degreaser around the motor, firewall, and inside the fenders. Hosed it off, dried it up and armor all the hoses and such.

Larry, it looks to me like the trim around the radio is already black. If you are talking about the piece that extends over towards the glove compartment, I wouldn't do that. To paint all of it black would be over kill. I agree about the tan vents, try to find some black ones for the center.

I'd like to start moving some of the red and black from my car to the interior. I just haven't figured out exactly what I want to do yet or how to do it. I was hoping there was a good trim kit that included all the pieces so I didn't have to trash the wood kit. I'm thinking of painting the vinyl that is on the top of the dash and all other vinyl that is that color red to match the exterior and change the trim to black. Still trying to figure it out. I don't know if I like the idea of red, black and tan together... This damn tan color is so hard to work with! -JoeB

Toyota with there 3 tone look! LOL! I also hate the brown on top of the doors and dash, which is painted on. When I was cleaning my door the other day, I noticed the brown coming off and the tan underneath. I can't believe Toyota has used this color scheme for so long. I wish Toyota would integrate the exterior color with the interior more. After seeing more black in the interior, I believe it makes it look soooo much better.
