Ran the Camry at the Track

Ran the Camry at the Track

I finally got the chance to drive my car at a track! Every Tuesday they hold a Time Attack event. Usually you get 3 runs with 3 laps each (1 warm up lap, 1 timed lap, 1 cool down) running with 4 other cars spaced 10 seconds apart, but this time we only got 2 runs. It was probably because of this one Miata that went off the track and also the track lights weren't working that day once it was getting dark. I originally thought the track was very small, as it's used for go-karts, but when I saw it in person, it was a decent size. Last week, it was funny because these 2 groups of guys were staring at my car and walking around it. Not sure if they thought it was nice or bad (probably bad)...And this past night this one dude asked me if I was gonna run it and I said yup. He probably thought I was idiot tracking my Camry lol. At least I was quicker than a Prowler though. Anyways, it was pretty fun but I wish I had a better setup. Since it was my first time, I was running conservatively (early braking and my lines were a bit sloppy I suppose). Here's a video and some pics from last night. Oh, and last week there was a guy running an F430 Scuderia. Pics and vids of that can be uploaded upon request lol. Here's my current setup:

Eibach springs/KYB GR-2 struts
TRD Front Strut Bar
TRD Rear Sway Bar (Track setting)
Kumho AST's 225/40/18 with 40 PSI all around
18x7.5 +38 Wheels
Removed Spare only and half tank of gas
Temperature was about 60° F

Flipped For Frank

jetbtkng AKA Frank was banned so some of us flipped our sig for him.
He always had his sig flipped. I asked him why he did that an he told me cuz his Lara's defy gravity.

Thanks for the replies :D

Yeah, the track is fun but I really want to try more advanced stuff; possibly Streets of Willow like BBQ Bob and Frank. Maybe some autocross events at El Torro or something. As fun as the track stuff is, I really love driving up in the canyon/mountain roads, plus it really helped me get to know the car better.

And I was also surprised to see the Scuderia out there. I have a few more vids, but they're low quality since I used my phone for that and it was dark :-?

The track is hella small for time attack, more like for drifting ...
