Another curious thing at the event was why the hybrid track was only 1/3 as long as the rest. It was too short to do anything, and the hybrid drove like any other car... maybe that was the point they wanted to make?
I think the McCartney cd was chosen because he was one of the first to support the hybrid... and I believe Lexus and McCartney have some connection to a charity... I read about it a while back but don't remember. But hey, it's a free CD =P
I can't really answer the hybrid question... but the test tracks are dependant on the size of the overall field... maybe they felt the hybrid didn't need as much because they are only proving hybrids can have more power... while the other cars (GS/IS) can handle...
