So, last July, I purchased my 2001 Solara convertible. So far, it's been a great car, though it's not my daily driver. I've only put 4,000km on it since I've had it and only two synthetic oil changes. I don't drive it in the winter.

In the short time that I've had her so far, I've managed to mod it quite a bit. When I first bought the car, I had a vision of what I wanted the car to be. I'm almost there. I've posted a few pics, let me know what you guys think!

Heres the car when I first got it:

And this is what it looks like today:

A little fun with Photoshop. What do you think of the slightly tinted fogs?

My latest mods included the Kaminari kit, and a renova grill. I completely lucked out finding both of those as I was able to source them brand new locally from another club member. THANKS! (you know who you are)
The kit is unpainted for now, but it will be going into the bodyshop to get that corrected, and to have the side skirts added. As it sits right now, the car seems to be a real head-turner, even though the kit isn't painted. I guess it's because most people can't tell what it is from the front when they see me coming. Anyways, let me know what you all think!

Thanks for looking.

Very slick Nick, kudos. I dig your taste in mods thus far.

Very tasteful modifications, if you didn't say about the kit being unpainted I wouldn't have noticed.

Leave them guessing coming and going by removing the Solara emblem off the back, some 20% or 30% all around and a TRD/Borla exhaust and you're good to go.

That's magazine worthy, Nick, my boy. It's lovely. Thanks for sharing. It must be nice not to drive in winter. Some Saturdays I don't drive my car ALL DAY. :D P.S. I like the solitary Solara badge. After all the modifications, it sort of a giving props to the original. Jimmm

Finally a convert member who has the kit...and who might stay around!

Looks sick!! Remove badges (soft floss & goo gone) and tint.

Do you have any pics with the mods & the top down?

Thanks guys! I appreciate the positive feedback. I was toying with the idea of removing the "solara" badge, but originally I'd left it on so that it could stay uniform with my other car. As for tint, I'm still up in the air about it. I have 15% on my maxima and I love it, but that's a different type of car. If i do tint it, I wont go any darker than a 35%.
Does anyone have recommendations for an exhaust? JMSinMarland mentioned a TRD/borla setup, and that's what I'm more leaning towards. I don't want it to be loud, and performance isn't something I'm after either. It'd be more for cosmetic enhancement.

The projectors were 100% done by myself. It was no easy task, and getting them to aim right where I wanted them was the most difficult part.

The pics I took were shot just a few minutes before it rained, so I don't have any pics with the top down just yet. If I didn't have to rush to get the car back into the garage, I would've taken some. It seems to be nicer out today so hopefully I get a chance to take a couple.
