tiny little toggle switch

Was doing the convertible top mod (to eliminate the speed limit at which you can drop the top), and discovered a tiny little toggle switch near the hood latch. (See picture, below.) Looks like an aftermarket add-on, but I'm not sure. I have flipped the switch several times, and nothing seems to happen. Any ideas? I'll trace the wires this weekend and try to figure out.

oh yeah and maybe put someone in the passenger seat and flip it...maybe it will eject them

That looks like it has something to do with the car's alarm.

Or maybe some ricer had some interior lights in it at one point?

i have a set of those installed in my truck one kills the starter and the other kills the ability to shift out of park while its running i use as theft safety devices

Sounds like a fun project to trace those lines. Waiting for update report on mystery switch. My vote for alarm.

what happened with the switch I'm curious
