AC slows down when put on recirculate (opposite of usual)

Postby wkbrdr91 » Thu Oct 03, 2013 10:10 am

A couple weeks ago I turned on recirculate (as I almost always have it on because a black car in Florida which is typically 100+ degrees gets pretty hot and requires it. When I turned it on it blew harder as usual (than bringing in fresh air) then drastically slowed down as if something got sucked down the piping and blocked it. It does this everytime now, always a delay.

Any ideas on how to solve this? I can only assume a piece of paper is being sucked around in the tubing but I am not sure where exactly I should be looking.

Just wanted to let you guys know the problem went away on its own. I have no idea what was causing it. It did this a few weeks ago and I haven't tried recirculate since, tried it a few hours after posting this and it works just like new.

Guess all I had to do was ask and the problem goes away
