Home-made Crank Pulley Holder
I made this tool to hold the crank pulley while removing the bolt. It takes two bolts to go through the holes in it (the holes are 2 1/4" apart center-to-center). Then the bolts go into the threaded crank pulley holes. It handle is about 18" long for leverage and for bracing against the frame or A-arm etc. This way i can hold the crank pulley while i undo the bolt with my electric impact.
Also you can use this tool to hold the camshaft pulley gear while removing the bolt (to change water pump etc.) Just replace the long bolts with two shorter bolts that are threaded all the way. Then screw on a nut to hold the bolts firmly. Then you can use it almost exactly like Toyota's SST pin tool.
Its a crude tool, but all i had was some scrap metal, a band saw, grinder and one worn out drill bit. I proudly made this tool for a total expenditure of $0.00 Beat that, Sears!
