Im sure you know the only way to go is custom. What I would do is have a custom y-pipe made (except no longer a y but possibly an x) and just run it back from there with 2.5" piping, high flow cats, and a good set of mufflers. Personally I wouldn't convert to "true" dual because it would require two cats if your concerned about emissions. I would custom make a y that flows better and direct that into a single cat converter and split from there back. Maybe you can tell us whether or not this is more for looks or for performance?

its somewhat both.. but more towards looks, but i wanna get as much performance out of it as possible. im not too worried abouth the emissions stuff though.

2 smaller cats would flow more than one larger cat...

the thing is that you need to have the 3rd o2 sensor in the middle of the x or h in the pipe, it needs to be able to read the result of both banks-worth of exhaust combined.

you need to figure that w/ only 3 cylinders worth of exhaust running through both cats, you will need to size it so they will both light off, but w/o restricting too much. in the v6, the cats are the largest restriction past the stock y-pipe. but then again, the exhaust cams could make huge improvements too...
