has anyone put the manual tranny found on solaras onto a 1mzfe in a camry?

Not that I know of, but the opposite has been done, so I assume it works.

yeah, i think it would be possible becuase its the same manual tranny that they put on the v6 camrys witch we diddnt get here in the states, but i havnt found anyone who has done it which makes be believe that there may be some kind of problem with doing it.

ok , i found a few instances of people doing this but still nobody telling exactly what someone would need to do this or the cost, and if its even worth it.

i dont see why not to put a solara manual tranny in the camry. But i think it is all depend on your resource (if you can install the tranny by yourself, or if you can find parts cheap). however, typical tranny conversion usually runs about 1000-2500 dollars. is it worth it? it is all depend on yourself

both the gen4 camry and the 1st gen solaras use the e153
