The smart key system is standard on the XLE V6...

OK, here's the review on the SE V6, we got our first one in today, and of course I had to drive it... Even though I went to the "ride and drive" a couple weeks ago I still wanted to see if the suspension is alot different, plus the cool factor of this vehicle is off the charts, when I saw it in person it took my breath away... K it's Blue Ribbon Metallic (previously indigo ink pearl) with the leather package, moonroof, and JBL audio package sticker was $28K and some change... Pickup is f*ing amazing, it almost pins you in your seat, that combined with the growling 3.5V6 gives you a great adrenaline rush... Not only is it quick off the line but at high RPM's it also has really good pickup... My take on the sport-shift, toyota has really perfected it, it's pretty damn close to driving a manual... There is almost no lag, and the 6 speed tranny makes for some high speed fun (not to mention better fuel economy while cruising) ok here comes the good part, handling... The sprty suspension the heavy duty sway bar, and the x-brace behind theback seat, make for one stable ride, I was takin 30 mph turns at 65 (shhh don't tell anyone) and didn't even break a sweat, it was solid and FUN!!! The best part was watching everybody break their necks lookin at this car as I drove by :-) Toyota has done it again, this new camry is going to be hard to beat... That combined with the release of the new Rav, the FJ Cruiser, and the Yaris is making me glad that I'm working for toyota and not ford, or chevy :-) Anywho hope you enjoyed my review, now GO OUT AND TEST DRIVE ONE FOR YOURSELF!!!

I just hope the new LE 4 Cylinder handles better than my parents' 04 Camry LE 4 Cylinder (the brake system of that car is crap).

Some of you feel that it's too huge? I saw my 3rd 2007 Camry today (this one was an XLE) the back end actually looks smaller than the previous gen and the length is still at 189.2 inches.

Glad to see Toyota competing the Camry right alongside a Maxima in terms of performance.

I wonder if Nissan will fire back with an AWD Maxima with 300hp.

the 07camry is one of those shapes that is not immediately likeable by all. at first look, its like, "hmm, it is different but i am not sure i really like it" or that it does not amaze at first sight. whats wierd is that the look starts to grow on you and it becomes more and more likeable. the front end looked too heavy, thick and high. the back end was kinda thin in comparison and the sides were too bland and there were those different "shelfs" near the top of the hood and trunk. but after looking at it more and more it starts to take on the character of a freight train that has been chiseled and honed. the look becomes more solid and masculine with more strength. what is nice is that this look is backed up with mechanicals to match. toyota got serious with performance even sacrificing utility for torsional rigidity in the SE models by eliminating the rear 60-40 folding seats. at first this bothered me, but i think that this new camry will become the new standard in many areas where it was not before. the SE trim guys slightly missed the mark but certainly did not fail as the additional pieces of bodywork are slightly tacky and do not quite blend in. maybe i need more time looking at it but it reminds me of the toyota parts people offering the body kit for the corolla's. it would also be nice to see just a little more juice from the SE package, like an additional 5-10hp than the standard v6.

It's an o.k. look. The hooped up version I've seen on another website makes it look awesome. When I saw the hybrid at the auto show, the bump on the nose looked really weird. I didn't see the point of it.

I still think the Gen 1 Solara has the best shape of the Camry product.

But, what I really want to know is:

1. Will their be aftermarket support for the SE, especially considering that Toyota will be in NASCAR next year;

2. Everything I've read said that the electronic control system takes the fun out of driving it because you can't burn out, etc.;

3. I wish to god they would make this rear wheel drive. Pipe dream.

1. there prob will be some, most in suspension. variable valves on intake and exhaust gets you 268hp and with electronics will be more difficult and expensive to pump up and there will be less need to and desire. exhaust/intake, like solara's would be probable.

2. i think there is a sequence to disable.

3. lexus.

the gen1 looks nice, but the latest camry rocks! give it some more time...imo, of course
