Hey guys. I'm a 05 Solara owner, but my girl is getting ready to buy an 05 XLE. Her dad works for Toyota so I'm not worried about her getting ripped off. Is there anything she should know before she buys in the next couple of days?

Thanks!

she should know that a 2007 Toyota camry Hybrid will come out, it will probably be a very fast car, similar to the Accord Hybrid. The Camry Hybrid is a V6 that has the fuel economy of a Camry I4.

She is going to get the V6. I dont think she could wait another year for the hybrid to come out.

the only advantage of XLE over other badgings is automatic climate control HVAC. If i were in the camry v6 market, I'd buy the V6 SE with all options of XLE (minus auto climate control). With SE you get more power, better looking headlights, better suspension and beautiful gauges!

Good advice. She likes the "simulated" wood grain, which I think is an eyesore on my Solara and the leather seats...

that automated climate control is a VERY nice luxury to have.

I second that about climate control. I was driving around the other night in my base Solara, wondering why it was so cold. :D Automation spoils you right quick.

We've got an '05 XLE on our driveway (2.4L though) and the extra XLE-specific details are nice: Compass, rear vents for the passengers, the sunshade out back, etc.

I haven't driven the Camry SE, but she might like that suspension better. The XLE isn't a total floater, but it's more of a yacht than a Cigarette Boat. Personal preference dictates here, I guess.
