So what I have been reading, dont do the swap. The cressida is kind of a old car. Having a supra engine in is damn good, but converting a non turbo engine to a turbo engine would be kind of difficult? Plus I have to swap in a manual transmission, cause I see some on ebay and their all automatic. All this would be the cost of a 3sgte swap in my camry prolly. I really need to do something quick, b 4 july hits. All my friends are going to cars shows, and drag strips. I want to have a different taste in cars, 4 say my camry with an mr2 engine in it. But I will keep looking 4 something.

how about using a small block v8 instead?

I think that is doable as well, since I found this from the net, check that out, it is a project done by some guy. He installed a V8 into his CRX:

if you really want a monster of a car, you should consider this choice.

Just buy a hooked up 93 mr2 for like $10000 or $15000 and call it a day! Not worth the stress. Had a 91 3sgte mr2 and I LOVED IT! It will cost you more in the long run. Your putting the engine from a car that weighs almost 800lb lighter and RWD midship converting it into FWD.

Cressida or Gen 2

Postby JMSinMaryland » Wed Apr 19, 2006 10:00 pm

I've seen a Cressida with the 2JZ-GTE?? or whatever the Supra MKIV TT engine is and it looked like a perfect fit, probably a direct drop in for a Supra MKIII. Also a Gen 2 with a 3S-GE should be a perfect fit for a 3S-GTE. Jon. btw with everyone in Maryland when are we going to meet up?

Ok, I guess the camry wouldnt be that good as a drag car, but great in fuel economy. I guess I will be looking 4 a cressida or mr2 with or without the turbo, and swap the turbo in it.
