What size tires

Please give the following info on your Gen4/4.5 wheel size to help me determine what will fit.
Rim size/offset and time size.
I have 17x7's with a .50 offset (the IS300 rims)
I have to go with a All Season Tire after all I live in WI.
I also have the Eibach/Tokico suspension.

you could try what i have. i have the 17" 04 solara rims with 235/40/R17 right now, but i also had it on my old 2001 camry before i got this one and im pretty sure that should fit your 2000.

40's are too small.
I need to with a 50 or 55.
Many of the roads here suck, with potholes and such.
I'm thinking more like 225/55/17 or 215/55/17.

Picking tires isn't a guessing game. Do a little research. Google Miata Tire Calculator, basically it allows you to enter your OEM tire specs and mess with width, sidewall height and wheel size to make sure your odometer stays accurate. I wouldn't recommend going anything wider than a 225 and you know you have a 17" wheel so the only variable is sidewall. I would recommend Yokohamas (I personally love the Avid H4's for high performance all season, I've put them on the parent's cars, mother in laws car and mine) and Pirelli (but they are known to occasionally bubble on the sidewall, more easily than others). that 225/55/17 or 215/55/17 sounds really good. that's actually what the 04 solara come with stock. and o road around with that for a while, that size was just really hard for me to find, not to mention really expensive when you find it. but then again you'e looking for all season tires, and those arent cheap anyway. those sizes would work though. gl.

Hence the post.
The calculator will only tell you a comparison to the original size tire.
I really doesn't matter how accurate my speedo is.
That is adjustable or you can compensate for that while driving.
What I need to know is will they fit in the fenderwell.
If they will have clearance issues.
It is a guessing game to see what will fit.
You have to try different sizes...to fit your needs.
I know R&D is verrexpensive, that is why we have this forum.

and some people will recommend 215/45/17, which are also the stock is size because it is more commonly found than 215/50/17
