Well all, this sucks >.> I Melted down the voice coil in my memphis 12"
due to the guy that sold me the line output converter.
He handed it to me and said and i quote " all you have to do is hook it up I've pre set the knobs for an amp install.
Well, I was driving to work and started hearing a rusty hinge like sound when the bass would hit. stopped and looked at my speakers and my memphis was sunk in and ruined. pulled it out and the dan voice coil was wrapped around Cardboard!!! it had MELTED (dont know how cardboard melts but it did!) anyway; now I need to get another kicker 12" i guess
I'm verry unsatisfied with the way that Memphis power refrence 12 was built.

You didn't even list the very best sub.

You can't buy a better sub.

I voted kicker just cause they make some 20,000 watt max subs in their solo X class, but soundsplinter.com also has some damn powerfull subs too.

I was running 2 kicker 12's and a single memphis 12 in a sealed box with a 2.5 farad capp and 4,000 watt lanzar amp had the kickers on left and right and the memphis hooked up mono (the amp instructions said it was ok) I understand that was a lot of power going to 1 sub but i only have the power on the amp at 1/2 and bass boost all the way down. (not my first rodeo) I had the same exact setup in my 97 Ford Aspire (POS!) anyway it had an aftermarket HU and had preouts/ thus the LOC with treble jacked all the way up is what burnt the VC but the kickers are still kickin/

As for the Diamond subs and Soundstream and Orion I've never heard any so I didn't include them Mod's feel free to add any and all other brand names to the poll

I have had two 12 inch pioneers 800watt max(some basic ones, they were blue), 2 12 inch grey competition series pioneers 1200watt max. Those look kinda ugly but hit so hard and persice. My favorite are the 2 12 inch kenwoods I have now in a custom built box. They look good, the magnets are sturdy and heavy as hell. I dont know model number but they max out at 1200.
