CD text not on screen

CD text not on screen

I have an 07 with navi/audio. I'm batting 0% on getting any CD titles to show up on the nav screen. I've played somewhere between 10-15 different discs, all store-bought, and no CD or track titles show up.

My XM titles show up just fine, and everything else within the system seem to work as advertised.

Any ideas?

CD-TEXT is rare, I've found. It's even quite complicated to create CDs w/ CD-TEXT support. You have to use Nero or RecordNow, iTunes, etc. doesn't support it.

If you want to test it, look for the CD-TEXT logo or create one using the aforementioned software. One of my Reba McEntire CDs supported it.

Cheers,
KD

I'm certainly not going to worry about it. I just wanted to insure that my system was operating normally.

Try using a CD from Sony Music, either Columbia, Epic. Sony usually puts CDTEXT on their cds(store bought). Hope this helps.

That did it. I found a Sony disc and had all the titles. Not a huge deal, but good to know that it's working normally.

Sony will put CDTEXT on their cds but for some reason alot of the other record companies dont. It would be a nice thing if they all did it. Glad that worked for ya. HAPPY DRIVING!! :D

Probably because not many appliances CAN decode CD-TEXT... So far the only thing that I've actually used that was able to was the OEM Toyota player (duh).
