Where are these wires? Ignition, dimmer, and battery?

I just got my Omnifi system today, and I need to splice the wires onto 4 wires on the car. They consist of these wires: Negative, ignition switch, dimmer, and battery. I don't know how to read electrical diagrams worth crap and I have already tried looking at them.

If you could help me that would be great! I just need to know where all these wires are close to each other so I can splice the Omnifi setup on with them. Thanks for your help!

All 4 of these wires can be found in the radio harness behind the radio.

Battery - Blue & Yellow wire
Negative (ground) - Brown wire
ignition - Grey Wire
Dimmer (illumination) - Green Wire

Wow [SMAN] thanks a ton for the help! I'll be sure to get back there today and start the process.

Yes, that is the unit I have. I'll have all pics ready when I get it all installed and running.

No problem, wiring is my specialty since i used to be a car stereo installer. Let me know if these wires don't work for you.

Wiring Connection Update.

I installed an OmniFi DMP1 today. An earlier post helped with splices to the OEM radio wiring but mine was a little different.

For the '04 Convertible with JBL 6 disk changer the wires are:

Battery continuous voltage (for memory retention) Blue/Yellow
Negative (ground)- Brown
Switched 12 volt (ignition) green/red
Dimmer (for display) green/silver

The difference from an earlier post is only in the last two so for some models the ignition might be gray, dimmer may be green. If you're installing an OmniFi or other system using OEM wiring it'll pay to check with a voltmeter or test light before making a permanent connection.

Sound mods now include

2- ports for plugging in any kind of mp3 or other audio (interesting with a PC or handheld computer with audio output from the car's system)

Garmin Nuvi 660 with audio ported into car stereo (so the lady can sound exasperated when saying "off route, recalculating) at full volume. Bluetooth for hands free phone conversations mutes music.

Radar detector audio output ported to car stereo

OmniFi output to stereo (sounds 'much' better than an mp3 player even though it's playing mp3 files).

I built a littie circuit so some sources (radar detector and gps) have priority over music. Any pronouncement from those sources including bluetooth phone conversations routed through the gps automatically mutes the music.

A lot of the above (gps and bluetooth particularly) is stuff you owners of SLE's get standard from the factory.

Cheers
