How to access the back of the stereo?

Ok, I'm installing an aux adapter here the beginning of next week, and I need to know how to get back there. I've seen on PLXpainter's site how to get back there (pdf file), but it requires a nylon removal tool. Are there any alternatives to ripping the parts off from each other? How would I do it with a removal tool, even? There's virtually no room to stick anything between the center console and the other plastic pieces.

Help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Dood - just feel around back there for the only open connector - that's how I hooked up my Sirius! ;)

Take out the center console pieces and pull out the box below the HVAC and drop it down - you can reach behind the HU without taking it out - easy!

Oh man do I feel retarded now. Please don't spam for this noob question.

What's HVAC? Wait, never mind. Isn't that just the AC controls and such?

And again back to my original question. How do you remove the center console?

Open the console box and pull up on the center piece. it should snap up - you might have to take off the shift knob. Everything just pops out from there on up the line - just carefully pull stuff up and wiggle it on out. It will make sense once you get it started.

No, you're not late at all. I'm getting the aux adapter tomorrow if UPS ships on time and my OMNIFI setup by Friday (e-mail me back, already! ).

Alright, I did it the not-so-hard way and removed the two panels and reached around the back of the unit to plug in the aux adapter. I'm still waiting for the Omnifi system (I just bought one on ebay instead of waiting) to come in the mail, but I'll be sure to post pics of it when I'm finished! For my first connection, I have an ipod cable that has FLAWLESS sound! It's already the best investment of $65 I've made for audio, lol!

Does anyone know why the harness for the stereo won't plug in and clip? I've pushed as hard as I can, but I can only get some pressure to hold the clip onto the stereo. No actual *click* sound, followed by a snug and firm connection, was made. Help por favor! :)

Pics when I'm done with the whole thing.

Oh yeah, sorry about that. I'll take some pics hopefully today if I have time, I'm pretty busy packing for two trips coming up very shortly.

I'm running a temporary solution right now by velcroing the h/u for the Omnifi system on the front console under the A/C controls. When I get time, I'm going to cut that area so I can put the h/u there and it will be permanent. I'll need to order a spare console peice so I can keep my Omnifi setup when I sell the car and there will be no holes :) .
