Nav Screen Dim in Cold Weather?

This is the second winter I've owned my 2006 Nav equipped Solara Convertible and I've noticed something this winter, that I did not notice last. When the interior of the car is cold, the Nav screen does not seem very bright. Have any of the factory Nav system owners noticed that, or is just me?

It's been pretty cold here in CT...and I haven't noticed that yet. I have an 06 convertible, as well...and haven't had any problems with the NAV at all. I would LOVE to get my hands on an 07 NAV, though...to get the CD changer and AUX outputs for my IPod. *sigh*

Thanks for the reply. I did not think I was crazy. I don't remember an issue last year. Mind you, it does not get that cold here in Southeast Texas. I've noticed, once the car interior warms up, the display seems normal. I've noticed in night mode, when I first start out, there is a slight red tint to the display. Once everything warms up, it looks normal. Now I'm sure the dealership will say that everything is normal. If it fails, I hope it does so while the warranty is still in force.

Yes, the 2007 Nav unit does have some new features that are nice. The one item I like the most, is the Bluetooth.

hey yea my car does that. im up in mass. it gets dim when i start up the car in the morning and after a while it brighten up.

It appears we have one unit that does not dim, and another one that does. I'm glad to hear about the one that does. I thought perhaps my unit was ready to croak.

It's just the LCD. You're cell phone will do it too if it's cold enough. I would assume it's because of the crystals becoming thicker with the cold. Just like oil, it flows better when it's warm.
