how to install rear speakers

Postby mluu510 » Mon Jan 15, 2007 8:13 pm

i bought PIONEER TS-A6961R 3-Way 6" x 9" Car Speaker for my solara.

http://www.amazon.com/PIONEER-TS-A6961R ... lectronics

how do i install them?

do i fold down the rear seats and remove the four black screws to reach the rear speakers? i read the solara repair manual. they want to remove so many stuff. i am pretty sure that's unnecessary.

if its just $35 i would. but only if its $35. they might charge extra if $35 is only for basic labor. Make sure its a reputable place that has insurance in case they decide to take short cuts and eff something up.

if you follow this guide right here, http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=29372 , that's how to remove the rear deck to access the top mount for the rear struts, you can also access the speakers. As you see, it involves a lot of removing stuff, about 30-45 minute worth of labor, to take things apart and put it back together again, so it's up to you, $35 or DIY for 1-1.5 hours (including the time to install the speakers)

it simple usually takes me roughly 45-hour to doo...

on camrys 97-01 remove rear seat bottom pops up and remove.
- the the sides u wii have 2 gold bolts that hold up the left and right side seat panels take them out and lift up and remove. the side panels on the pilars remove them they pop off and slide towards you
flip the seats down
take the 3 child locks off. and then i beleive pop the rear deck off and pull toward self and disconnect light. and there are ur 2 speakers 3 10mill bolts to remove. use a right angle and be careful not too slip and scratch ur tint or anythign.
