any XM help for my Solara ?

Got an 05 Solara. I want XM but don't want to pay Toyota what they want to install it ($600 quoted). I got the JBL head unit. It's not that good of a headunit but I'm gonna keep it for a while.

Can anyone give me the part #'s for the XM hardware I need to install. Do I have to deal with Toyota or can I get it aftermarket.

It seems Toyota got me by the beans.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

You have to get a compatible tuner. You can get it from Toyota, or Ebay or someplace like that. They aren't cheap...who knows why they cost so much, but they do.

Jim,
On our last two cars we used the XM Roadie kits and just added XM to our radio. Used the FM tuner to receive the XM stations. Worked great, sounded great and cost about $250 installed at Best Buy.
