Anytime Navigation (No Hardware Hacks)

More goodies from the guys at SiennaClub.org...

This has been reported to work on the Gen 2 Navi's... tested, and it works.

Presenting... anytime navigation without a hardware hack...

the thread is located at:

http://www.siennaclub.org/forum/index.p ... topic=8470

directions linked from thread:

http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=171662

And for those that don't like to follow links...

Hit the "MENU" button (physical), then "Volume" (screen), then hit the speaker icon, the lower left corner of the screen, the speaker icon again, and the lower left corner of the screen again... should bring up a hidden page... click and hold on the "Override" button (screen) until you hear a beep.

The only bad news? This isn't a permanent fix; you'd have to do it everytime you start the car. The good news apart from the obvious? You don't have to do this before you start moving, i.e., you can invoke the override while you're moving.

Remember to use it responsibly! (i.e. by a passenger)

WOO WOO- It works! Thats awesome. I'm glad that somebody knew how to do that- its frustrating to have to stop to put a destination in. THANKS a ton to whoever found this out.

I wonder if there are any other "touch" tricks that can access other special menu's?

This doesn't work for my '04 Solara. After I hit the Volume on the screen, it brings up a Variable Volume number system (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc.)

There is no 'Speaker' icon.

Can anyone help me? I'd love to be able to use this feature. Thanks.

DW

*** EDIT ***

Got it to work, thanks. This changes everything for me. :D
