Yeah it's on the backside. Are you not able to just reach up there and disconect the molex? You should be able to get to the backside just as easy as the front. The way i do it, is i slide the seat all the way back, fold it back, and basicly lie on my back down there with my head next to the brake pedal.

Yeah, it's a pain in the ass to do this, but that's cause toyota made it tripple redundant. I don't know why they want to restrict it so much as i don't even think anthing else has 3 different spots that all do the same thing.

wow. Its ridiculously hard to get that apart and get some easy access to those wires. I eventually gave up, and just used the "I'm shooting blind" method by just trying to pull the connectors out of the back.....still difficult.

I'll do more tonight.

well. I got everything apart and laid out. I will update tommorrow with pics. I have yet to actually play with wires.

Today I spent almost all day taking apart the dash. unwrapping factory installed electrical tape, and following connectors and wires.

Fun stuff.

Now thats its all apart, and I have metered all the wires and read through the entire EWD and lighting section........it all makes sense.

But wow. Its a mess right now. But I hope I can take enough pictures that they could be helpful for diagnosing anything later down the line for other members maybe?

Here are some pics:

I cannot find the wire for 2I. It should be yellow with a green stripe, according to this:

Here is a couple photos I took of the back of the connector. It should be in the middle.

Gotta say, I am having a blast doing this. I know I get frustrated at times. But to know that I am doing something that no other solara owner has done yet, is really cool.

Hopefully this works, and when its all said and done, its easy enough for anyone to do :)

Well, small problem, there is no yellow wire with a green stripe.

Any thoughts? Are we sure that its pin 8? At 21 pin 8, I believe I see a violet wire with a green stripe? I'll get some better pictures.

Here are the pictures:

Here is a close up of the connector, showing pin 8's location.

I did find the B6 Connect wire easily:

and for reference: here is 2i pin 10: which in that picture is green with a red stripe, like it should be.

Its a clip of page 86 in the EWD.

so if you go two wires left of 2i-10, you will be at 2i-8, which in my car is violet/green stripe. not yellow/green stripe.

Welp, it looks like you found your wires. Now it's time to start testing and cutting.

It works!!!!!!!!!!!

And it works without playing with the ground. It works right now, and all i have done it put a constant 12v on the relay (our first modification), and connect pin 22 to pin 8. (like mentioned previously). So even with the ECU controlling the ground, it still works.

I'll post pics soon.

Um, Pin 22 to Pin 8 is bypassing the ECU. That was the whole point of it.
