Blue is not worth getting rid of the JBL. If you aren't going aftermarket, keep the JBL.

??? It's the same HU with blue illum and MP3 capability. Noone's ditching the JBL. BTW, the non-JBL system looks the same on the front. So compare the back to the pic I posted on pg1 on the tut. That auction posted recently is the JBL. If all the ports on the back are in one line, it's not the same.

this guy just put up the 07 JBL right now. If you guys need it :)

nice! I'll most likely bid on it. Thanks for the heads up!

I'm considering bidding on this... don't want to bid eachother up. I see NO BIDS yet. Are you wanting it?

BTW, I'll have an '04 JBL unit available if I buy this '07.... mainly wanting the BLUE illumination to go with my BLUE affinities...

He said he was going to bid on the 07 non-JBL and that his JBL would be up for grabs...

...in my opinion, the blue illumination isn't worth giving up the JBL. The JBL is better.

You BETTER be sorry....

AAAAHHHHH ha ha ha ha!!!

Anyhew... I JUST picked up an iPOD2CAR in Detroit last night... (AFTER some Ramen with a Phreakie dude, some CELEBRITY named Mr. "T", and a Tactful gentlemen of thoughtful composure...) I drove around for awhile until I tracked down a Circuit City, but they didn't have any SPEC.USA aux. input units for TOYOTA in ANY local stores... so I found a BEST BUY, and picked up THEIR unit... (a little pricey, but after my last web purchase attempt fell through, and no luck on the SPEC unit in any stores, I sprung for a little over a Ben Franklin to get the "hook-up".)

Sorry, no tutorial... (already posted, anyway...), but I WILL say, I ended up pulling most of the recommended pieces per the TOYOTA factory manual to keep from damaging anything. While I was in there, I pulled my VALENTINE ONE cable THROUGH the vent, so I wouldn't have the line "dangling" in front of the HVAC and RADIO. LOOKS MUCH BETTER! The whole job was straight forward, and I am pleased with the NEWER style PUSH/FRICTION clips Toyota uses on these. NICE! The unit is working GREAT, and I have VOLUME AND TRACK control from the steering controls as well. My only gripe is, it takes some fiddling sometimes to get the TRACK select to recognize, and the "GAIN" is a little low for my taste... (I gotta run the radio toward the top volume settings to REALLY rock, and run out of "headroom". I'm sure the stock HU would be "CLEANER" if I run a "line-level" convert to RCA's and run my own amps and speakers and adjust the gain a little higher...)

Anyway... now that I had to give up the 6-disk changer, I don't want to lose the cassette deck to an MP3/WMA player... my iPOD already does that. I still come accross a TAPE or BOOK ON TAPE that I want to play on real long trips, and I can still ALWAYS run a cassette adapter for ANY type input from a jack to CD player or OTHER MP3 unit, etc...

just info...

Probably a good call. I'm not 100% sure but I think my AUX2CAR is no longer working right now on the '07 HU. I don't use it but I hit the CD button twice and it didn't switch to AUX. I'll have to take my MP3 player out there sometime to test.
