I want to play mp3 in my solara

Postby cyberion » Wed Nov 22, 2006 10:33 pm

I want to play mp3 in my solara. I have a 2006 single CD player without JBL or NAV. Seems like I have 3 optioins
1) buying Aftermarket Mp3 HU.. Good but need to buy a ugly bazel kit.
2) buying 2007 OEM toyota HU.. Best but I don't know its comparable with my HU.
3) buying USA SPEC for separate mp3 player.. Good but too much wires around..

any better suggestion?

The '07 Solara has an MP3 player factory? In that case, get that. It will look the same and keep the cool Solara logo :) . Besides, factory audio is not too expensive, it might cost around $100 (look on ebay!).

Sorry about earlier, it's acutally $159 + $20 shipping, but still under $200 for a 6 CD MP3 changer? Wow, and it still says Soalra!

I was looking at getting the 07 OEM MP3 Player too...and I might just do so because I literally have about 100 CD's in my car and it's frustrating when I wanna change but even though it says "SOLARA" on it, it's in the new font of all caps not the fancy cursive we have on the older models. I'd still get it though, but i'm still debating because I have the money for so much crap but my Bank of A account restricts how much i could spend a month...so i gotta wait till december to get the 07 OEM MP3 Player, 07 Taillights, HID's, and Billet Grills :\

Same here. It's te worst thing in the world when you're driving down the freeway when it's busy and then you want to change CDs, but you can't. I like how the 07 allows 6 CDs AND in MP3 format, I have tons of them from my old car. I also like the cursive, not cool how they didn't do it again :(

haha, hey Duy, I had to laugh when I read this... how does a bank restrict how much you can spend? are you a minor or something? if so... I guess it would make sense...

Yea...I was a minor when I got the bank account and the limit is removed in January. I got the account at 16 and my parents didn't want me spending money like an idiot...even though I still do :P

Oh yea...I think instead of removing the limit, I'm just gonna raise it up because it actually helps out a lot because like I learned in Economics class...More Money = More Demand = More Supply = More you wanna buy crap you don't need, so I think i'll just raise up the restriction

true... that's actually sounds like a good way to budget one self... putting a restriction. well, your car seems pretty cool now, keep it up.

I would go aftermarket also... the bezel does not look bad IMO if you get the right paint to match...

But most of the decision is based on your budget... how much are you looking to spend?
