Getting Tweeters

Postby kpxboi0619 » Tue Aug 07, 2007 10:37 pm

So far., I replaced the front 6x9z with aftermarket kenwood 6x9s... rear 6x9s with the almani 6x9s.... Added Rockford Fosgate Punch Stage2 12" woofer... and trying to change the tweeters up in the front..
but the guyz at the audio shop said not all the tweeters fit...

anyone recommend any good tweeters???
the one that fits without any modification?
I have 2006 Solara SE SPORT V6., Non-JBL setup., with Pioneer Avic-D3 installed.

Are the non-JBL tweeters different from the JBL- tweeters? I didn't think they were.

Maybe just try swapping in some JBL models then?

Getting tweeters

Postby jmpdmc » Wed Aug 08, 2007 6:22 pm

When I upgraded the audio in my 2004 SE last year, I used Infinity Reference 1011T tweeters in the dash location. They have a couple different adaptors to help fit the location. I did have to use a little glue on a bracket to prevent the tweeter from sliding but this is hidden by the grill and they sound great. Hope this helps.

do you have an aftermarket amp? Thats setup is requiring a lot more power than you are giving it. Did you gain any sound quality?
