Need Advice: Location of Backup Camera Monitor

Postby vice » Mon Sep 18, 2006 12:16 pm

Ok, this is the company that did it, mdoman@maxcarfun.com. They are located in Pittsburgh PA. I don't know a lot of details because they did the work in their shop. The mod. they used was from a company in FL, and my car was the first 2007 Solara that it had been used on. I think the company he got it from only supply to pro. shops, but don't know. I like it, comes on when car is put in reverse, but the cost was high. I asked Mark, owner of shop, what if somebody out of area wanted to do it, he said he could sell them the part. But I don't know the cost of the part alone.

Back up Camera

Postby EyeDoc » Mon Sep 18, 2006 12:56 pm

Yes, Vice I got your e-mail. I also recieved an e-mail from the company. He wants 550.00 for the parts and shipping to my area. I have asked for more details as his e-mail didn't contain much. If I drop 550 bucks, I need to know what I am buying. If I get more details, I'll post them. Thanks for you help so far.

Sorry, didn't know from your post you had emailed him. For me it was like taking the car to your dealer, sit in a chair while they take it away to work on it. So I don't about what was used or how it was done. I think there is another topic where someone did it using a camera from C.City for $299. I think they got the info. off another Toyota site. Check, this could save you a lot if you have the skill. I don't so I had to pay.

Just wanted to confirm, the plug was removed in the 2007. All years before are fine and cklinh is correct and the Eclipse unit will work.
