im about to install a pioneer headunit deh-p6800mp i currently have an 2004 sle with the jbl system question 1. do i have to buy a special wire harness or does it plug directly to the factory plug and question 2. am i suppose to disconnect the internal jbl amp if so which plugs to i pull out thanks for you help

Yeah, you can just buy a harness, but the ones that go to the JBL are pretty much useless. I don't know about Gen2's, but with the Gen1 there are 2 plugs in the back that are the same size as the Toyota harness (a normal one from Scosche or Metra); just unplug those, that bypasses the stock amp.

2. Unless again, things have changed since Gen1, you can just leave it.
