I just bought an injen short ran from someone but didnt realize that it came with no sticker. Living here in California, its pretty hard to get by without the proper paperwork or stickers when asked for a smog check or hood pop check. Anyone still have theirs, let me know.

who said it wont pass?? the place you went to is full of crap.

if it has a CARB EO# number then guess what its a cali legal product. jeeze. so since it wont pass im guessing everyone in kali has to take off their supercharger since it wont pass visual. please think before you say something dumb :n00b:

soooo..... bottom line is that I will pass with the injen + tube ext? I dont have the CARB sticker and for all they care, it might be a fake. Someone lemmie know and give me a solid answer to the smog/hook pop check legality of it in the northern california region. If i need it, anyone still have theirs?

imo, the filter is so high up in the fender and surrounded by the bumper/wheel well coverings that you would have to almost completely submerge half og your tire to suck any water in. and yes, that means it should start seeping into your doors before it should get close to your filter.

its for those guys where it floods often/ or they have a body kit where the underlining or wheel well coverings are taken off. For a stock setup, the filter is covered very good and wont be getting enough water to make it a problem. Take a look at some of the guys pictures and youll see what I'm talking about. If you live in a moderatly dry place like in California, you wont need to worry about sucking in water through the CAI.

I've done fine with my setup. I do watch out for big puddles, though. You should be fine, just be careful.

yeah thats what i was talking about. If you have a stock setup with just the TRD lip bodykit, then you wouldnt even know there was anything there. Dont worry about splash since the stock panels/plastic protects it against anything like that.
