Any interest gen1.5 tails?

Any interest gen1.5 tails?

Postby 02slera » Mon Dec 07, 2009 5:24 pm

I just ordered gen 1 tail lights for my gen 1.5 solara. They should arrive this week, I'm wondering if anyone may be interested in buying my gen 1.5 tail lights im taking off the car. My honest personal opinion is that the gen 1 tail lights look better during the day, but the gen 1.5 tail lights look better at night when lit up.

no not shipped. not THAT good a price LOL. I will say that if they dont sell here i will put them on ebay for the same price... $50 for the pair + shipping. if i cant get that then i may just experiment with them, trying different mods and what not.

finally the new lamps are on the car! i've packed the old lamps in the box and its ready to go. have not had a chance to go by ups and get a price, will do that as soon as i can.

NOW... the lamps are in great condition with one defect... on the passenger side brake light, one of the four studs is broken off. its the bottom, outside stud. it still mounts fine and tight and you'd never know it was missing.
I also found out that it isnt quite as easy as "plug and play" on switching gen 1 and gen 1.5 tail lights... they almost match exactly with the exception of one of the three bulbs doesnt have the grooves in the same exact spot. what i did is simply take a knife to the housing and cut a small notch where it needed to be and it works perfect now. So if your putting these gen 1.5 lamps on a gen 1 solara you will have to cut a small notch in the housing where that one bulb wont quite go into place. very easy mod.
