Today is a sad day to watch Damon parting out his "Mona Lisa" of a ride. We've seen this too many times before. Someone's hard work into a masterpiece chopped up into tiny bits and sold off to the masses.

So instead to taking advantage of his rediculously low prices, offer to donate to his college tuition funds. It will make you feel good contributing to such a "nice guy"!

Antique wedding rings and text books will be accepted in lieu of cash.

lol, you guys are the best...

It bums me out a lot, just like Im sure it does everyone else. I really wish i was able to keep the car in its current state, but I just cant do it. I did it to myself, I was irresponsible with inheritance money and money from my jobs and overspent when i should have been saving for alicia and I's future. Im sure it was easy to see to everyone else that for a kid my age I was getting in way over my head.

I will still be keeping the car and as many of the mods as possible will stay... at the very least the lip kit, wheels, and coilovers. Im really hoping I can keep the boost for a while, but we will see what happens.

Ill always be around the forums, you guys are like a family at this point- Ill be rocking the solara for some time to come, so no worries :) thanks a lot to everyone who has been helping me along the way. Hopefully some day soon I can get back to the baller, but for now this solara guy is on a tight budget!

I know everyone is gonna think Im a moron, but I was living beyond my means for a while and its time to pay the piper for it now. I really really wish there was another way around this, but I have no choice and no other options.

Sad to see that you have financial issues, but also glad that you're planning your future. This can be a great lesson for all of us.

I have to praise you Damon for such a mature response to the situation. You understand priorities in life and find a way to get around problems. I think this is a lesson learned that will guide how you handle finances in the future.

I'm happy to see that you realized this before opening several massive lines of credit and running up the cards. (The trap many young folk fall into.)

BTW Folks: The call to donate was all for the dramatic effect. The point is we all hate to see the part out of a beautiful ride. I hope some of you can gleen something from Damon's experience.

I've been through it too. My mother died when I was 21 leaving me to raise myself. The insurance money was very little after funeral and hospital expenses. The small amount left went to a "new" used 300ZX Turbo and a trip to California with the GF. The GF got on me for not putting some away for a future wedding. (We broke up a year later.) A dumb move on my part. She was a good woman.

Damon, it aint nothin but a thang man. Your attitude alone about all this shows the true man you are. Here's to a long, happy and prosperous life together with your soon to be wife and hopefully big family. When it's time, it'll come back around.

thanks a lot guys, it helps to have your support. Modding can for sure be an addiction and if you dont manage it right its really easy to fall into a trap. The car might not have been to that final form I would want it in, but Im not sure it ever would have been, so Ive gotta say I am happy with the build and so blessed/lucky to have the opportunity to build the car I did, enjoy it, and make all of the friends I did along the way. Maybe in a couple years when things settle down Ill be ale to start modding the car again.

I dont plan to sell it or return it to complete bone stock- at the very least I want to have the drop, wheels, kit, and exhaust. Probably wont sell much else for a little while to finidh out the season, then see what needs to be done after that.

I'm with you on the hooking up cars bro...i was at this too when I bought and hooked up my WRX 5 years ago...of course now it's all done and looking all pretty but i ran up a 35k bill...of course it took me 2 years to pay it off...now i plan everything when hook up a car...i sorta follow a path...and i call the distributors instead of the retailers to get my parts...cuts my cost to almost a half...good luck with the part out and congratulations on your engament!
