Blown JIC Coilovers $200 Shipped

Postby CamryOnBronze » Sat Jul 19, 2008 1:50 pm

This is not the set I was selling earlier this week but my second set. Both front dampers are blown, but the rears are perfectly fine. JIC told both myself and Happy_Aggies that they would repair and reservice the two fronts with new dampers for about $450. These would be a great pickup for someone looking to get into some JIC coilovers at a bargain price.

Shipping alone is probably going to cost me $75 because of weight, so Im not making any money on these (losing a lot actually) but I need to get them out of the garage- someone scoop these up and get into some VERY nice coilovers for a crazy price! PM me with questions, thanks!

Why are they blown?

I thought JIC makes a quality product.

If they blow easily, I might be kind of apprehensive about buying a JIC product.

Unless you were doing some hardcore rocking in your Solara.

The quality is 50/50. Since JIC is shipped over from Japan then there may be quality issues on the way here. I'm on my second set of custom coilovers since my first ones blew up. Front as well.

The coilovers are very good if you get a good batch but remember, they are geared towards smooth tracks. for DD use, I'd recommend springs shocks to absorbe most of the imperfections. One nasty pothole can either kill your suspension of bend a rim. But yeah, I do kinda like my suspension. Its the best we have on our application :drinking:

they are blown because of two massive potholes- one of the blown fronts was from my set, which was caused by hitting about a 1 ft deep crater on the freeway and the other was from happy_aggie's set which was from a monster pothole. It would be expected that almost any coilover setup would be damaged from the hole that I hit. I have been happy with the quality of my JIC products thus far, its just a part of playing the game and running a low drop on coilovers.
