they arent blown.. but they are on the way out.. leaking oil = slow failure.. been there done that with them.. the end result is a rebuild of about 200 bucks each unit.. jic refuses to release the part numbers for the replacement units now (mtc-whatever is no longer the part number) since they switched to the fas Etc part numbering..

so they say "you must send it in for a rebuild" 1 year ago they were allowing rebuilds on your own.

the buyer will be pleased with the jics, however the fronts are ticking time bombs.. i think its a mfgr. defect your the 5th person to have the front drivers starting to fail so go figure...

JIC's are good.. I've been running them with no problems.. but I got mine when they were practically new..

FYI - The FLT-A1 are not rebuildable.
You will have to replace it. Cost is about $300 when I called JIC.

ONLY the A2's for the Solara/Camry's are buidlable. Cost is about $120.00 to $150.00 for each.

But good price for someone looking for coilovers. I would have bought these but I am no longer looking for a camry and I already have JIC CO on the Solara. I am trying to pick up a SUV.

3 Weeks ago quoted me $325 ea. for rebuild.
Plus the pillows would have been Nearly $1500.
I ended up trading them in on a new set. $1600 shipped. (very pretty :sweet: waxed them to keep them from the elements)
I bought these from a member on this board who claimed that they had under 6k on them.
Got Boost?? :sweet:

^^Wow.. really... When I called to ask them how much it would cost to rebuild thats what I was quoted..

If they were the A1's then they don't rebuild them.. they replace the entire strut unit. Which is about $300 bucks.

I found that it was easier and more cost effective to just buy a set of K-sports. They wanted like $300 for a cartridge and I had to install it myself when I called them like a year and a half ago, so I just got out of them and bought k-sports new for $900. This set here was my second set of JICs- my first set blew one of the fronts out as well.

So...

300 for the front driver strut to be replaced + 550= 850 for this to be running Notch.

Yeah i email JIC-Magic about the rebuild, and they said you have to buy a whole new coilover strut.

That is why i'm goin' to go wit TEIN.
TEIN coilovers are in the middle of JIC-Magic price range, and the adjustablility is more than JIC MAgic offers, from what i remember.
