Hey! Look who it is!

How close to OEM fitment are those headers? Oddly enough, I don't want them to be exact, they need to fit my MR2...

Know of anyone using these and what kind of improvements they saw?

Hey Chris

There are several SGs who are using these headers with great results. I would assume you could fit the headers on an MR2, but you'd definitely have to go custom on the y-pipe. Let me know if you need me to take some measurements or get more photos.

I need some shiny new headers. The old stock ones i have look like junk. How much shipped to Sylvan Lake, T4S 1X1 Alberta Canada?

Even the stock manifolds and y-pipe are kind of a problem sitting in the MR2. The front manifold is fine and mates to the y-pipe fine, but the rear bank's manifold exits at an angle pointing to the left, right onto the transmission. Is the rear bank of the OBX exactly like that as well?

Some more photos would be helpful, perhaps I can use the manifolds except for modifying the angle of the exit on the rear bank. I need to talk to a local muffler shop about that as well.

How's the SC doing?

Chris - the rear header does curve a bit toward the tranny. It looks like less of a bend than the stocker, but that's just a guess.

The s/c is doing well. I had to have it rebuilt a year or so ago, but the internals looked great. It's been doing well at 6 psi, and it's about to see 9 psi!

Glad you're enjoying the SC.

Yea that bend on the rear manifold looks less, and it actually looks like it would work. Too bad you sold it. I'll have to maybe just dive in and buy a set somewhere.

OBX Headers

Postby go tom go » Tue Jan 26, 2010 10:05 pm

Got the headers today. There is a PROBLEM! They look too good to put on the car. I hung them on the garage wall until I'm ready to install. If I didn't see my fine UPS lady bringing them in I would have thought you brought them yourself, seeing how I just payed for them Saturday. These will complete the gathering process for my first gen MR2V6SC build. Thanks again. Tom.

I'm glad you're happy with them! Definitely keep us updated on your build. I'm sure all of us would love to see some more 1MZ love.

Lol I'm the same way. They are an impressive work of art. I'll be sad when my back header is no longer visible once it gets installed.

I might purchase that knock sensor off of you. I'll let you know within a couple days for certain.

Are those Fuel rails still available? That TRD charger Gabe sent me is itching for 6psi and these bloody Gen5's here in Aus don't come with a return system.

http://ircalc.usps.gov/MailServices.asp ... &o=1&mt=12

Would the rails fit in the Small pre-paid PMI box or would I be looking @ the Medium box?
