OK, just had something weird happen to me with the McCulloch HID's, wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing...

I was driving in the rain... was pretty sure that both headlights came on when I remote started the car. I was messing with the headlights a bit (turned them off and on once a little after I started driving)... when I got out of the car, one of the headlights was out. I turned the car off and on, and both lights came back on (although at a slightly different color, but it evened out eventually)...

So, has this happened to anyone? Where one or both HID would not come on?

It bothered me a little bit because it was the same side that I was having problems with (krawzyazn, you never did get back to me about those pics of the black gunk on one of the bulbs)...

well, it wasn't constant, just did it once (was comparing, actually)...

and no, remote start does not make the lights go off and on... that's an option for the parking lights, but I turned that off...

cool, sounds like there's nothing for me to worry about... let me know when you hear back from your guys about those pics.

Well why would the bulbs get damaged if you turned on and off your lights a couple of times.. what if you have your head lights on auto and you are going in and out of a couple tunnels.. im mean wtf.. that just sounds kind of weird that should be able to be turned on and off a couple times with no problem.... thats like saying you are driving at night and you hit your headlights off for a second on accident you have to wait 1 minute to continue driving....
Do you have a detail reason why.. I am currious to find out the exact reason why you cant do so....

because these bulbs are different from halogens. if you want to turn your halogens off and on all the time it wont hurt the bulb. someone correct me if im wrong but these bulbs are different and take time to heat up and cool off. by turning them off and on quickly you're jacking em up.
