Got hosed in buying..what can/should I do?

Postby Jon11582 » Sun Jun 13, 2004 2:41 pm

I bought something from someone on this forum. I went through with it, since he got a recommendation from someone else. I paid up over a month ago (itll be two months in a week) and still have not recieved anything. I get an email every week or every other week or so with a different excuse. What can I do now?

Amount was $190

BTW, User is no longer using this forum because he got a new car I think, but I have name, address, phone #, money order stub, and email transpondence.

man doesnt that piss u off??? i had a similar situation with some guy about a yr ago for about $250, but all i had was his # and name... thanks to the internet i was able to find pretty much everything about him, address home parents # etc.... so my technique was... i made him aware that i knew where and how to find him, pretty much that i knew more than he thought, then i gave him an ultimatum (i hope i spelled that correct lol) or else i would contact the authorities. I really had no idea how i was going to do the last one, but it seemed to have worked cuz he just paid me back. Good luck man, i hope u get ur money back, or ur product.

no hes not, hes kind of close to me, but not really drivable distance. Hes over state lines tho.

I was going to give an ultimatum, but wasnt sure what authorities to contact. Thats what I was hoping to get from you guys.

Ill put his UN up in a day or two. Just wanna make sure thats what I want to do.

Hey Jon, i remember Rizal had the same thing happen to you but it was about him buying some rims off someone. You should ask him, he had some fraud website you can go to.

I know, you Solaraguys are good for that, but thats the kind of help im trying to avoid.

I wanna stick with the legal channels first. If push comes to shove, we'll see.

Thanks for the tip, Chris, Ill contact Rizal at some point to see what avenue he pursued.

That was exactly why a while back I suggested this:

http://www.zer0.info/solaraguy/viewtopic.php?t=8429

I myself got burnt buying a part that wasn't working as described. When confronted..the dude claimed it worked for him...Good thing i was a 35 dollar part so i'm not worried about the money..but more about principal of trade.
