Gauging Interest: Buying My Solara Back

Gauging Interest: Buying My Solara Back

Postby CamryOnBronze » Mon Sep 15, 2008 8:56 pm

The time to make the insurance claim is fast approaching and I will have a decision to make. I will need to decide if i want to buy the car back and part it out further or let them take it and not bother with my time. I thought it would be a good idea to post items here to see if there would be interest so I have a better idea if its worth my time or not to buy it back.

I am not taking dibs or anything like that, so dont pm me looking for these items, but here is what would be available:

99 solara se v6 5 speed

1mz engine with 107k miles on the clock. Fresh timing belt, rear main seal, oil pan seal, etc. Leaks NO oil, burns no oil, mint.

E153 5 speed trans with fidanza flywheel and act clutch, includes all parts to manual swap.

complete black interior swap- everything included

brembo brake rotors, hawk pads, and stainless lines all four corners (like new)

body panels like doors, fenders, hood, front bumper.

Pretty much most of what you can think of that sint aftermarket from the car. Obviously the large items would be pickup in michigan. If you have any SERIOUS interest in the items posted above, please let me know in this thread. I will then make my decision based on the response I get.

Thanks a lot for sticking by me through all of this guys!

Damon

shoot I'm looking for a center panel (the one that goes from the clock down to the climate control). I'd snatch that off you, along with a few other bits.
Geeks get it done, while Nerds whimper and call for mommie.

lip kit may be going on another solara... if not I already have a buyer. This is just for the items listed above/factory parts.

I started the claim process today, hoping to have the word on it being totaled and buying it back very soon.

Damon, I'll take something small. Maybe like a valve stem cap or something cool like that just to be able to run a piece of a legend ride down the road.

No I was serious. We used to do this when I was young.
If a friends car got trashed, when possible, we'd all run some part on ours just to keep it on the road.
I still have a few things that have survived the years that I keep in an antique gas pump display case that a friend made me.

When I send your stuff you'll have my return add. And honestly it doesn't matter what it is, just so I can run it. That is unless you change your mind and decide to keep it rolling.
