Got hosed in buying..what can/should I do?

**updated**

Well its up. I did about 3 more weeks of research and gave him an ultimatum last week or 7 days to respond and 14 days to repay or send product. Its been 8 days now with no response, so hes going up on www.fraud.org, the FTCs website, and USPS for mail fraud (Since MO was sent out USPS). Its 60 days after the fact now, so Im pretty much done chasing.

BTW, user was BurningSolara. Item purchased is the JBL 1200.1 amp, referenced here: http://www.zer0.info/solaraguy/viewtopi ... highlight=

I sent him $190, since he seemed to have trouble figuring out how much shipping was going to be. I even rushed the MO for him, since he was saying "his car was in the shop and he needed money to get it out" I assume he was talkin about his new Lexus IS that he sold his solara for, that I apparently helped to get out of the shop.

Ill release more info if the mods deem it proper, like his real name and address, locale, phone, etc. I used to mod at another board, and you pretty much lose all your privacy rights as soon as you become a troll, so others can be warned of the activity by just doing a little research. Not sure how it works around here though.

I would never pay anything with money orders, except for personal bills. How come you guys didn't pay using paypal? That way you'll have a record of it and if the seller does not send the product or send the correct products, then you can let paypal take legal actions.

I'm sure it's too late now...

I know there were two of them cuz Moe asked the mods if they would change is name and the other guy said "no you change yours cuz I've been on here longer than you". It's been awhile though.

If you read thier terms, paypal requires action within 30 days, which is still pretty worthless, since most conpeople can keep in touch for at least 30 days. (i.e. returned package, wrong address, etc). MO and debit are the worst. I read somewhere that you can redeem up to 500 in the first TWO days (shipping is slower than that!).

The most fullproof way is to pay by credit card. Because of consumer protection, you can refuse any charges if made directly from your credit card if goods are not delivered.

Also, many people do not have paypal accounts. Heck, I dont have a paypal account that can accept funds, and Ive been on the net for almost 7 years and ebay semi-regularly.

ya i remember seeing that nickname and was like WTF! i did ask mods to change that un...but they guy said he was here longer so i left it alone...im sorry you have to go through this...i personally make it a point never to scam people...because honestly it just puts them in an awful situation...but thats the main reason why i wanted that guy to change his un, cuz if he did something stupid i didnt wanna be mixed up in it...good luck bro.
