I don't know what the prices are where you guys live, but here you can get the gallon-size Mobile 1 Syn for 19.82 at Walmart and 2 Toyota OEM filters from the dealer for $9.

Is the mobile filter that much better?

^ Yeah but you get 5 qt of Oil which is 1 qt more than a gallon.
You can go 7k miles with the Mobil 1 filter. Not to mention it's a great filter.

For the i4 oil change that Wal-mart deal is plenty of oil; however, not enough for the v6.

It's basically a $5.00 - $15.00 savings depending on were you live.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I just picked up 10qts and 2 filters.

Quick question for everyone out there w/ the Gen 1 V6 - on a drain and re-fill how much do you guys typically put in? I generally get about 4.25-4.5 qts to get it to the middle of the indicator.

i have a mobil one filter in now and mobil one oil. i just passed my 3 month mark. should i change the oil and filter or either one?

How hard did you drive? Road conditions? i.e. dusty? / If not then just check the level and add to make sure your at the propper mark. It's realy depending on how many miles you drove within these three months. Any Idea?

If your beyond 6-7k then change it. If your only at 3k or less with no dusty or hard driving then no need to change - just add to get to the correct level. (I change it no matter what)

Anyone else think differ?

i drive kinda hard, a few redlines within the 3 months. i'm pretty sure i'm either at 3k or a little before. roads a lot of stop and go, and fairly dusty, a lot of rain if that matters.
