F/S - TRD Lip Kit (Molly Designs) - Gen 1.5 Black NEW

Hey haven't been here a while but wanted to throw this up. I bought an original Molly designs TRD 7 piece lip kit for my black 2000 Solara a while back and never installed it. I have a new car now, so I'm looking to offload this kit.

I'm sure any Gen1'er whos looking at a lip kit knows this, but this is a Gen 1.5 (02-03) kit but will fit on Gen1 (99-01) with minor modifications to the front lips. It is a Polyurethane lip kit, painted black from the factory. This kit is Brand new in the original box.

$650 Picked up from Northern NJ (15 miles from NYC). If you want this but aren't local and want to work out shipping details, PM me.

Im curious...

So why did you buy a Gen 1.5 kit for a Gen 1 Lara?

and

How much modification is needed for the front lips for it to fit a Gen 1?

ill simplify the answer to that... how different is the solara from 1-1.5???

look at your rear bumper any difference??

look at the sides.. any difference

look at the front.. any major difference??? that should answer your question as to why..

now to go delv further into it, before kaminari stepped in.. the only kits still available were 1.5 so more than likely guess what??? he bought what was available
need wheels? www.memoryfab.com - ask for david

Hey Lee. Ive seen many members on the boards do small modifications to make this fit, its not a big issue or headache to get this to fit. So if you want to hop on this i would recomend you do since it is a rare set to come by. :)

I totally lucked out getting my kit. I'd have to see two gen1's side by side (one with the gen1 kit, and one with the 1.5) to see the difference.

I really really really want an original TRD Lip Kit.
...but I want to do a 5 MT swap more.
Dam!!! I cant make up my mind. :x

When you say small modification is needed, you mean a couple extra screws to close in the gap???

^Lol yeah i know how you feel dude, in my opinion making the car faster comes first :)

and yeah a few more screws should do it. Trust me its almost nothing. It would be well worth it, but if you want to do that 5spd swap i would recomend doing that. You will fall in love more with the lara. :)

I have the Gen1.5 kit on my Gen1 and it just takes 2 more extra screws to secure it.

As many have said, Gen1.5 was really all that was available back then. Gen 1 was very hard to come by after 2001, and the ones that were around were going for $1500 or so. These days, you will never find a Gen1 original molly kit around.

For the fitment, we are talking very minor modifications to the front lip, as many here have already mentioned. The rest of the kit is identical from Gen 1 to Gen 1.5 since none of the other pieces changed shape. Many people have installed a Gen1.5 kit on the Gen1. I have seen many in person at a few meets and it looks good on all of them.

There used to be tutorials on this forum for this fitment since it was so commonly done; they should still be around in the tutorial section if you want to search for them.
