I went to get my car washed after it rained a few days back and the machine tore off the side moulding of my right door :(. I was wondering if anyone was fully parting out a wrecked Solara and had it for sale. Preferably silver. Thank you.

DUDE, if you havent already complained to the manager, GET IN YOUR CAR AND GO THERE NOW. Ask to speak to the manager, and explain what hapened. My mom had her windshield washer arms ripped off due to one of these car washes, and they cut her a check to fix it...

Yeah I knew going in there I should have hand washed but it had just rained and I didnt really feel like staying outside to do it, I learned from that. I complained to the car wash manager and he cut me a check for around 100 dollars so thats what I'm working with to get this part, I cant find sites to sell it so I thought I might as well try here.

edit: I will try to post pics within the week + nice rims. You both are making me think of getting clear corners now after looking at your sigs.

i am willing to bet that besides a junkyard (first choice) that this will be a dealership part. Good luck with your search and if you need a part number: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts

I could never forget about SG. 8)

Ive been going through some hell with my ex-wife. CPS has got involved with her, (dont wana go into much detail) they removed my daughter from her and placed her with me full time. So I had no choice but to rearrange my entire life and work schedual. Its gonna work out real good for me, and real real real bad for her. :D

When its all said and done Ill let yall know how very stupid my ex-wife is.

I just looked at the Toyota parts site you linked and they want 200 bucks for it X.X , god willing the junkyard wont rape me as hard. Also when I do get this part is there a special glue that should be used to put it on or will regular guerrilla glue work?

i am willing to bet you should use some sort of epoxy like for emblems, something that will stand up to heat and water. I don't know that much about body work, but either a dealership parts person or hopefully someone on here will know.

The trim pieces are held on by double sided foam tape. The closest thing to oem I have been able to find was this stuff: Image 3M double sided trim tape. You can find it at autozone, or most other autopart stores. Walmart has it in the automotive, near the touch up paint pens.

:-/ I called all the salvage yards in a 20 mile radius and they either dont have Solara parts or don't sell the molding without it being attached to a door. I called the dealerships in the same area and the lowest quote I got was 187 because it is special order. I think I'm just gonna wait it out until someone on this forum who's been hoarding door molding's shows up
