Wind Deflector - Stock or aftermarket?

Wind Deflector - Stock or aftermarket?

Postby JenniferA » Thu Jun 25, 2009 6:07 am

All,

I just got my 2006 Solara and am considering the wind deflector. It seems a bit pricy and then there is installation (found it for like $280 before installation). I also found an aftermarket one by www.lovethedrive.com which is $355, but doens't require installation.

I am wondering if anyone has either and what the pros/cons of each might be? I know I will be taking it in and out plenty because I have a daughter who will use the backseat once in a while. FOr the most part she will be in the front, but I will be putting things in the back alot, whether the top is up or down.

Thanks!

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,
I also just bought a 2006 SLE Convertible. I got the Lovethedrive windscreen. It definitely cuts down the wind some and it also protects anything in the back seat. However, you can't have it up if someone is going to sit in the back seat. It is easy to put in and take out and doesn't require any tools or modifications to the car.
It does seem like a lot of money, but now that I have it, I wouldn't give it back.

Gotta admit though thats still damn expensive for a wind deflector.

I just watched the video and it looks really easy to install. Too bad it wasn't cheaper though.

Just like $100 cheaper and it is a no-brainer. I will have to think about it some more (and save I guess). I put the last of my money down on the car itself :)

Im far from new jersey thats for sure... Alabama lol. Just measure the width of your sunroof, as long as its 36 inches wide (or close to that) it will fit. It attatches via 2 hook brackets that catch the metal underside edge of the sunroof's perimeter. (included)
