2007 Solara spoiler options

2007 Solara spoiler options

Hi, All,

I bought a 2007 Solara SE about a month ago, and, for some reason, I've started having issues with its appearance from the rear and side-rear angles. At first, I thought this was just about my adjustment to having a coupe after falling in love with driving my Mazda Millenia for the past 6 1/2 years. Now, I'm thinking that I don't like something about the standard spoiler...seems it cuts the back of the car short and makes it look like a hatchback from certain angles (and I'm not a fan of hatchbacks). I've been trying to find different options for giving the trunk some sort of lift so that it doesn't appear to slope downwards as much. I've found a wing-type spoiler, but I have only been able to find a pic from the back (http://www.customautotrim.com/spoile...solara/wg1725/) so I'm unsure whether I would like it from the side angle.

I also considered just removing the spoiler all together. Most recently, I've started looking at the spoiler from the Sport model because it's bigger. If anyone has any pics to share or any thoughts on my dilemma, I would greatly appreciate your response because I REALLY want to love this car the way I loved my Mazda! Thanks!

The 2007+ SE Sport models came with a slightly larger spoiler than the regular solaras aswell. I like that option as it would keep a factory look but a bit more agressive.

If you decide not to keep the standard spoiler, have the Solara Sport spoiler installed. Please, NO WINGS!

Thanks for your responses. I laughed out loud at "please no wings!" I'm having a hard time picturing that myself. My husband actually took my spoiler off for me today so that I could see what I'd think. We both like it. I'm thinking of using the money I would've spent on a Sport spoiler to have the holes filled and painted. I'm still interested in others' thoughts, opinions, and pics so keep the posts coming! Thanks!

I'm not sure on the '07's but the spoiler used to be actually an option and not standard prior. However, Toyota shipped alot of them from the factory WITH the spoiler so you really didn't have a choice when picking one out on the dealer's lot. However, a few members on here have Gen 2's with no spoilers, hopefully they'll post a pic and give you more insight.

By the way, I voted for you to keep the stock spoiler because......I have a stock spoiler. However, going spoiler-less is cool too. BUT if you get anything resembling a fiberglass ironing board (i.e. wing) sticking out from your trunk--be forewarned, this post will be 500+ pages of the most brutal opinions you'll ever have read. Although it's inevitable some 16 year-old is bound to join this forum one day and proudly posts pics of an 8-foot wing he made in his Junior High wood shop class installed on his mom's 'Lara which would incur our wrath, I don't wish that to happen to you.

LOL, Bob...thanks for your response. I see that the wing option is not at all popular. I guess that shows how green I am at making modifications to a car. Up until this point, I've just been a get-in-it-and-drive-it-like-it-came type of gal...didn't even have tint on the Millenia!

I personally like the '07 sport spoiler on the rear of my '06 - really clean. :)

I like the idea of sport, or maybe save the money and invest in something else. I voted sport spoiler as i voted in from your perspective not mine.

I LOVEEEE PXL's spoiler (he's got, in my opinion, one of the hottest lara's out there)
