Illuminated Door Handles

Illuminated Door Handles

I was just looking through different mods and came across one interesting thing I'd like to share with you guys. These are door handles with LEDs that light up blue and amber. Blue for courtesy light and amber for turning blinkers.

Here is the web-site of manufacturer: http://www.ledmirror.com/

They are not meant for Solara, since the producer is in Taiwan and Solara is USDM only, but as far as I see Solara shares handles with Prius, Rav4 and some other Toyota models that are available there. Part-number is YH11002.

What do you think, guys?

Pretty neat but the chrome-look might be a little cheesy.

I agree. It would look better body-colored. And ehh... it's borderline ricey... Maybe not if not chrome.

Either way, I think it would be neat to see that on a Solara, especially since we don't have any turn indicator alongside the vehicle.

<sigh> Please pay attention to which forum the thread is in: "Aftermarket Upgrades Gen 2 and 2.5"

On topic: That looks like a lot of wiring. I bet it'd be a bitch to wire to both the signal lights and the dome lights. Is there one location that has access to both?

Yeah dude, the Gen 2s have different door handles.

I think it would look ok if it wasnt chrome and if the light was on the other side of the handle. That way you dont see the light untill you turn it on. Then you could match the paint and no one would know theres a light there. 8)

Chrome finish sucks. But you can paint it. And if your car is black, you can tint the light so it won't be visible.

I think the chrome is a little cheesy....and I'd also be willing to bet that they'd fill up with water after the first couple rain falls.

Funny all you guys baggin' the chrome - LOL!

I just think the LEDs in the handles look really Pep Boyz to me...

*Also - FWIW, the Camry and Gen 2 Solara door handles are same part numbers for same years.
