Do i need to change springs?

Do i need to change springs?

I have '04 Solara SE. I want to change my factory shock absorbers with the SE SPORT (they might be stiffer). Do I need to change springs, or they will fit?

No reason why they wouldn't fit.

I know the stock struts are stiffer on the Sport but can anybody verify that Toyota ACTUALLY put in stiffer springs than the SE and SLE?

I would get the KYBs instead of the SE sports unless you can get a low milage set of them.

the KYBs were much smoother and stiffer than the se sport struts.

Do you mean KAYABA 334387 ? One guy told me they are good for my car.

BTW, I can get here original Toyota's struts (for my VIN code), they seem to be KAYABA too, but I want more stiffer struts, so I guess struts from SE Sport would help it...

after i took the old ones off, i pushed on the shock against the ground.

the oem ones were the same amount of force going up and came up relatively fast, the kyb ones came needed more umph to compress it and it came back up slowly. I take that as a stiffer shock since it doesnt compress that fast and will retain its composition.

btw. the oem shocks say KYB on them too. =)

Well, the guy, who advised me about them told me they are different from the stock and might be better. I guess I'll try to order them.
