I keep getting a dadgum CEL after I have installed my Secret Weapon. I have a 2007 Solara coupe w/ 2.4L.

I have checked and re-tightened the worm clamps. I have put black RTV at the MAF just to make sure it was sealing. I am getting the code for the MAF not functioning optimally (something lik 00101) or that the fuel is a little lean.

Anybody had a similar problem with an aftermarket intake? This is probably the 4th car (of mine) that I've put an intake on, and this is the 1st time I have had so much trouble.

try disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery for 10 minutes then reconnect and start the car. that may solve the problem

disconnecting the battery resets the ECU, it should clear the codes and will learn the new intake and your driving habits.

disconnect for 10-15.. i disconnect then get something to eat. then go driving for about 20mins. drive streets and freeway. after that the ecu should adjust everything so it works tip-top

cheers

I'll try it again. I installed it with the battery disconnected, and have disconnected the battery since. However, i have not driven directly after reconnecting the battery. What i have been doing lately is clearing codes with my OBDII reader.

Like I said, I have checked and tightened clamps, RTV'd in a gasket around the mounting point for the MAF in addition. WE'll try it again, though.
